Emma (she/her)

I’m a documentary film photographer and multidisciplinary artist based in Seattle, Washington. I found my way to photography 15 years ago, after I wandered into my high school's analog photography class and quickly fell in love with the quiet act of seeing. Learning to observe the world through a lens changed the way I move through it and it’s something I’ve carried with me ever since. The ritual of shooting film still hasn’t lost its magic–receiving a roll back from the lab and holding those moments in my hands for the first time still makes me feel giddy.

My work is rooted in presence and in the beauty of natural, unguarded moments. At its core is a deep commitment to helping people feel seen. I believe there's space for everyone here exactly as they are, and that being witnessed with care can be a powerful thing. My approach is centered on softening the edges of our experience by creating and holding space so you can settle in, let your guard down, and be yourself without pressure or performance. From that place, the images that emerge feel the most honest and become entirely your own.
